Home Coast to Coast Basildon & Billericay U3A

Basildon & Billericay U3A

Members of Basildon and Billericay U3A heard a talk in January from Annette Thorpe, BT’s Regional Partnership Director for the East of England, about how broadband and the internet had developed since Victorian times, when the then internet service – the telegraph system - was the main supplier of information and contact.  She pointed out that the rapid growth in the use of the internet is giving rise to a demand for ever faster Broadband speeds.  A computer workshop meeting at 10am on the second Wednesday every month has been set up to help members to do more with their PCs and to suggest ways to overcome any difficulties.
