Social Distancing: Bonsai Group is Back

Published : 24 July 2020 Views: 3995

Carlton and Gedling U3A’s Bonsai group has met in person for the first time since lockdown began.

Following social distancing guidelines, the bonsai group met in a members’ garden – even finding takers for some of their Bonsai cuttings.

Paul Martinez, group convenor said, "We had been keeping in touch through WhatsApp, emails and Zoom meeting, but it is a bit difficult showing the finer points of wiring, pinching out and root pruning through Zoom. We had our first socially distanced meeting in July and it went really well".

Have any of your interest groups started meeting? We would love to know so please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you thinking of restarting your group within the current rules please see our risk assessment form in running your u3a during covid-19 in our members advice area.  You will need your members login.
