There has been so much support for U3A from Scotland’s legislators during a week-long U3A exhibition in the Scottish Parliament, in Edinburgh.

The U3A exhibition had around 100 visits including from Ministers, MSPs, Researchers and staff all keen to hear more about what U3A is all about.

Over 1,000 U3As around the country bring together Third Agers - retired, semi-retired or no longer bringing up a family - to learn, stay active & have fun. Members help each other & create a sense of community, social wellbeing, fellowship & belonging.

More than 50 MSPs visited the U3A at the exhibition and pledged to support the creation and development of U3As in their constituencies. A special thank you to the host, Perthshire South and Kinross-shire MSP, Roseanna Cunningham, the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform. U3A Scotland Trustee Ed Link said, "A huge thank you to all involved in making what has been an uplifting week and in terms of raising awareness of the U3A, a highly successful one.

"We had many visitors to the exhibition including some MSPs coming back several times. I believe U3A was also mentioned during a discussion in the Chamber on combatting social isolation and loneliness. " I look forward to this level of support continuing as we carry on growing the movement over the coming years".
