U3A is always working hard to keep you up to date with all the latest advice and guidance during this time. To this end, we have created a new category in the advice area called Running your U3A during Covid-19.

This new area pulls together the advice which is specific to U3As during the pandemic including advice on AGMS, insurance and risk assessments for outside and remote activities.

You will need to use your member login as you would normally do for any information in your U3A dedicated advice area.

Advice and Volunteer Manager Jane Bailey said, "We’ve been gathering more advice and information for U3As to keep running during Covid19.

"As part of this we have created a Guidance Document which all U3As should consider before starting up any outdoor activities.  This document includes the measures you should take to ensure the safety of all members.

"For Group leaders and individual participants, we have created a Risk Assessment/Checklist for running outdoor activities to be completed when deciding to take part.

"The situation is complex with different regulations in place in the different devolved countries and different guidance for individuals dependent on your age, health and household situations.

"It is for this reason the ultimate decision to take part in an activity that is being resumed with additional safety measures in place, will lie with the individual considering this question for themselves.

"The question many of you have asked us is around our insurance cover.  Please follow the detailed guidelines we have prepared in this new advice section and if you conclude from this that it is sufficiently safe to take part in the activity, then you would be covered by our Public and Products Liability Insurance".
