u3a - Third Age Trust AGM 2022

The 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Third Age Trust will be held as a hybrid meeting allowing delegates to attend in person (subject to government restrictions in place at the time) or online on:

Thursday 6th October, commencing at 11.15am at Kents Hill Park, Milton Keynes. 

Details on how to access the meeting for both voting delegates and non-voting delegates who wish to attend online will be distributed to u3as in due course.

Members u3as will be offered the opportunity to register delegates to vote on any resolutions during the meeting or by proxy.

Submission of Proposed Resolutions for the 2022 AGM

  • u3as were requested to submit proposed resolutions with supporting statements to the Company Secretary by 20th June 2022. Proposed resolutions could only be accepted if they were proposed by one u3a and seconded by another.
  • A list of any proposed resolutions received for the AGM will be circulated to all u3as by the week commencing 4th July 2022.
  • Any amendments to proposed resolutions will be required by 15th August 2022. As with resolutions, amendments must be proposed and seconded by u3as. 

Vote Registration

Please let us know as soon as possible who will be voting on behalf of your u3a and which method your u3a would like to use to cast their allocated vote/s by filling in the vote registration form.

This form will be used for director elections (both ordinary elected directors and Vice Chair) in those regions/ nations where elections are taking place and at the AGM.

Please ensure that you complete the Vote Registration form using the button below. If you don't fill out the vote registration form, you will not be able to vote in either the Director elections or at the AGM. Please ensure the form is only submitted once per u3a. You will need to enter your details including your u3a ID.

Vote Registration Form

Based on the paid up members declared to the Third Age Trust the votes are allocated as specified in Article 17(1) of the Articles of Association of the Third Age Trust:

  • up to 200 people in membership - one vote;
  • from 201 to 500 people in membership - two votes;
  • from 501 to 1000 people in membership - three votes;
  • from 1001 to 2000 people in membership – four votes;
  • from 2001 to 3000 people in membership – five votes;
  • more than 3000 people in membership – six votes.

Only u3as which have provided an annual return, declared their membership and paid their membership subscriptions for 2022-2023 to the Third Age Trust are eligible to vote at the AGM; any votes cast will not be counted unless we have received everything by the date of the AGM.

For the AGM we will be using a company called Attend2IT to provide a secure platform for the meeting and associated voting.

Election of Members of the Board of Directors

  • Voting for all director posts, whether officers or ordinary elected directors, will take place by way of an online ballot (hardcopy forms available on request). Online voting forms will be sent out to u3as during June.
  • Voting will close 22nd August 2022.
