Festival 2024

u3a Festival 24

The u3a movement held its first ever Festival on 18 - 20 July 2024 at the University of York. Hundreds of members took part in workshops, sports tournaments, talks, and music events – it was the largest meeting of u3a members in the movement’s history.

The ribbon was cut by Diana Moran, better known as The Green Goddess, who gained fame for her exercise routines on BBC Breakfast Time in the 1980s. Diana has been a member of Elmbridge u3a since 2000. When asked what she enjoyed about the u3a movement, she replied, "Meeting like-minded people, making new friends, learning new skills and absorbing new information. We really do learn, laugh, and live!"

A new video has been released to celebrate and showcase the Festival.
