A 40th Anniversary special Research & Shared Learning Conference is being held on 3 August.

The meeting is a celebration of the learning projects going on within the u3a movement. It is open to any u3a members - whether you're already involved in research projects or would like to learn more.

There will be talks on various ongoing projects, including Pushback Ageism and Future Lives; the diary project which saw u3a members log their experience of the pandemic; the High Street Project; the Founding Hospital Project and the Postal Pensioners 1901. North Downs & Ards u3a Film Unit, Burnham on Crouch u3a and Sheffield u3a will also be speaking about their experiences with learning projects within their own u3as.

Maggy Simms, one of the organisers of the event, says, "This will be an opportunity for everyone involved in, or interested in, research in the u3a movement to come together, learn more about the exciting things that are going on and make new connections. It's especially exciting as this is a special meeting to celebrate the 40th Anniversary and how far u3a has come in the last forty years."

The Research and Shared Learning Conference is taking place at The Exchange, County Hall, Preston on Wednesday 3 August. It will be a hybrid meeting and members can also attend virtually. Book your place now.
