u3a members can visit and see the u3a 40th Anniversary Quilt at it's new temporary home at the Witney Blanket Hall.
The quilt was welcomed to its new location with a special event. After talks about the process of creating quilt squares and about the history of the Blanket Hall, Sam Mauger, Chief Executive of the Third Age Trust, and Susie Berry, Trustee for the South East region, unveiled the quilt.
The historic Witney Blanket Hall will host the quilt for a year, where u3a members and groups can visit it and see it face-to-face.
Forty blocks make up the quilt, all which were made by u3a members and groups from across the movement, and selected as part of the 40th Anniversary Quilt Competition. The quilt is a celebration of the incredible skill across the movement and reflects community, positive ageing and lifelong learning.
The quilt was first revealed in Manchester earlier this year, after a countdown on social media revealing each winning quilt block.
The Witney Blanket Hall is open from Wednesday to Saturday each week. Booking is advised for larger groups to avoid disappointment. Find out more on their website.
