Christine from Preston Park u3a, explains how they engaged with the younger generation during u3a Week

A green tent in a field with people milling in front of it, chatting. We had a very successful day in Preston Park as part of u3a Week. We had a gazebo and stall with a couple of display boards showing some of the activities we offer.  Although rain was forecast, we were very lucky with the weather because it was sunny.
We had a lot of interest from passers-by and had several members on the stall throughout the day to chat with them about what u3a is and the groups run by Preston Park u3a.  Some younger people stopped and asked about the u3a because their parents live in nearby towns. We explained what the organisation is and directed them to the websites for their area.
It was a very worthwhile day and all our members enjoyed taking part.
