'Passage' by Yvonne Paddy of Lymington u3a

This is my take on trees, I did this when I was on a boat trip on the Canal de MIDI. The shapes that the trees made against the sky really worked using pen and ink.

A friend took this photo on the Bridgewater Canal. I liked the photo so much I decided to paint a little section of it.

'Ancient Yew' by David Wrigley of Fleet u3a

This ancient yew tree stands in the ruined cloisters of Muckross Abbey, County Kerry. When I saw it, it felt as though I had wandered into the pages of a story by Tolkien or CS Lewis. I admired the texture of the bark and the way it had survived for at least 500 years.

This was done from a picture taken in my local park. There was sunlight coming through the trees that cast a lovely light.

'Autumn Trees' by Sandra Foster of Belfast u3a

I love Autumn because of the wonderful colours that nature provides. Who doesn't enjoy walking through all those fallen leaves. I felt that this image represented the last hurrah before winter and the darker days arrived.

'Evening Glow in the woods' by Natasha Etchells of Porthmadog u3a

I liked the evening sun in the woods, the light, the atmosphere. The photograph was taken during one of our walks.
I like using pastels because they are very versatile, flexible and vibrant.

'Submerged' by Lindsey Bond of Cardiff u3a

This is a charcoal sketch of a local scene. Sometimes after heavy rainfall, the water level rises above the banks of the lake, and trees growing near the edge look as if they are growing out of the water.

'Woodland scene' by Pam Wakefield of Marple & District u3a

I was inspired to paint this woodland scene when I noticed the light shining through the trees in the small park near my home. It was in early autumn last year when the leaves were just changing colour.

'Bluebell undergrowth' by Jillian Daniell of Marple & District u3a

On one of my exercise walks last spring, I felt the local woods carpeted with bluebells looked so beautiful and uplifting, that I just had to take a photograph. I have tried to capture the atmosphere of that day in the woods by painting freely using watercolour and ink. Mixed media

Sitting indoors with the lockdown, thinking of better times to come.

Looking out of the window on a misty morning.

'Tree Shadows' by Liisa	Brown of Hartley, Wintney & District u3a

I used my original acrylic painting of an old, red barn, as a background and drew the tree and some shadows over it by using a digital drawing tool.

'Reflections' by Elizabeth Jackson of High Lane u3a

Loving the autumnal shades and the darkness as they are reflected in the water.

'Deep Winter' by Jacqueline Dughan of Burton-on-Trent u3a

The peace and stillness of this countryside scene in winter attracted me to produce this artwork, whilst sitting in my warm and cosy craft room during this terrible time trying to keep safe.

'Tangled up' by Lesley Williams of Hale & District u3a

I often walk down a local lane and sometimes wander off into an adjacent field. This tree took my eye with its tangle of grasses beneath.
