IGO Help and Information

Theme is:  Here Comes the Sun

'Frolicking in the sea' by Susan Noble.

My grandchildren frolicking in the sea at the start of summer 2021. After all the lockdowns, it was so nice to see them again and watch them enjoying the sun and sea. Painted in acrylic from a photograph.

by Shirley Mountain, Chesterfield u3a

Pen and ink sketch with water colour.

'The beach- by Janet Amor, Bradford on Avon u3a

I was inspired to do this painting after a visit to the beach on a sunny day and watching people enjoying themselves.

'The Rex Cinema' by Anne Pearson, Hale & District u3a

I thought of the 2023 film "Here Comes the Sun" and imagined it being screened at a local cinema. The sunny day was also a figment of my imagination!

'With roses blooming' by Elaine Adams, Northallerton u3a

...on a sun drenched wall. Painted in Wash and ink.

By David Ford, Guernesy u3a

I did this drawing using pan pastels and pastel pencils.

'Sunrise' by Rita Foster, Thorley u3a

'A walk on the beach with the dogs' by Mary Sarrachi, Wilmslow u3a

So happy to see the sun come out.

'Dawn in the bay' by Dennis Parkinson, Northallerton u3a

Acrylic on second hand backing

Collage by Liisa Brown, Stroud u3a

I used leftover scraps of paper, foil and some gellmat printing to make this semi abstract 'sunny' collage.

'First beer' by Martin Jones, Sudbury u3a

A pastel pencil picture this year's first beer in our garden.

'Just enough time to catch a few rays..' by Ian Weatherley of Witham & District (Essex) u3a

This lemur certainly seemed to be enjoying the sunshine when I originally photographed it at Colchester Zoo. The attached drawing was produced using pastel pencils on black card.

'Seaside visits' by Annie Fisher, Pontyclun u3a

This is meant to be a colourful take on seaside visits in the past. People must have been very uncomfortable in the sun with all those clothes!

'Relaxing in the sun' by Susie Shaw, Hawkwell Village u3a

summers here at last

'When Fornasetti's Sun came to visit' by Karen Lee, Tenbury Wells u3a

- acrylic painting by Karen Lee This painting is based on a Fornasetti image of the sun with a face and my interpretation of the sun visiting earth causing raging seas and birds migrating to cooler climes. It depicts the change in our climate where we should expect the unexpected and be ready to change and adapt.
