Climate Matters

The recently renamed group ‘Climate Matters’ (previously ‘Countdown to COP’) meets on the last Friday of each month at 10.00am. Each session lasts about 90 minutes.
As the name implies, we all understand that Climate does indeed Matter. Monthly meetings and other activities all focus on matters relating to climate. As an online group, some of the members started to meet in the spring of 2020, during ‘lockdown’. Some members were present in Glasgow during the COP26 climate talks; have developed materials relating to intergenerational action on climate; and have attended gatherings and conferences at the London Business School and University College London. In September 2023, they held their first – very successful - Summer School at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales; their next Summer School will be in 2025 at the University of Warwick.
Everyone is welcome to join discussions, and to take part in the breakout groups.
They have had various acclaimed speakers, including Mike Berners-Lee and Erik Dalhuijsen. You can find a link to speakers and presentations on the web page: Climate Change Network: COP group (u3asites.org.uk)
