Digital Skills
The Digital Skills group is about helping people to become more comfortable in this digital world. The aim of the group is to bring together members who are able to help others, and those who need help or want to learn more about computers, phones, tablets and the plethora of digital devices that are more and more part of everyday life.
We hold a regular online meetup via Zoom on 4th Friday of each month at 10.00 am. Typically the first part of each meeting will be a presentation on a specific topic (driven by recent questions or suggestions), followed by an open Q&A session to provide help or discuss other related topics.
We also hold drop in sessions via Zoom on remaining Fridays at 10.00 am. These are purely for providing help and support and should be considered optional. If you have a question or need some help and support then drop-in and someone will be there to help.
We provide help and support through a dedicated web site that allows you to get or provide help and support to members. While the site is publicly visible you cannot join from the site. When you join the group here we will create an account for you at https://digitalskillsigo.org and you will receive an invitation to the site via the same email address you use for IGO. The site includes the following features.
- Forum for getting help and support through threaded topics
- Chat for talking to whoever might be online to help.
- Blog, where articles may be posted based on suggestions.
