More Fun with Maths
The More Fun with Maths group is run by David Martin (the u3a Maths subject adviser) and myself (Lynda White). We aim to enhance group members' understanding and enjoyment of a variety of mathematical topics. Our meetings are once a month and typically involve discussion about a few mathematical problems or puzzles which have been suggested by us in advance. Other activities can include short talks on mathematical topics or famous mathematicians, and discussion about the group members' interests in Maths.
The programme is flexible but with an emphasis on problem solving and we encourage members to participate if they want to. There is no set level of Maths knowledge or ability required to join the group. We try to ensure that each meeting provides something for everyone by including some more straightforward questions as well some tougher ones.
