Read, Write, Discuss
Variety in the arts
How the group runs.
Each 60-minute session has a theme and members contributes in a variety of ways. The group meets via Zoom and members also have access to Padlets, which allows members to browse through the themes and the session format and leave comments.
To contribute to the sessions members can: write a piece; collect a few bullet points; pose questions or just listen and take part in the discussions. Members need to prepare for the session.
In order to help members create their responses to the theme, Helen, the group leader, sends guidance by email. This may involve reading around the topic or conducting some simple pieces of research.
Variety is the watchword, books – fact or fiction; poems, song lyrics, old and new; quotations; plays, TV and Films – Viewing the theme from all angles is encouraged.
