Words, Music and Rhyme
This is a group for members that like to perform poetry, accompanied or unaccompanied songs or instrumentals.
The group will takes a minimum of 8 up to a maximum of 12 members who will perform. If others members want to log on just to listen that’s fine.
The group provides a safe space for people who enjoy music and poetry to perform to others. There is no expectation that people are brilliant, everyone makes mistakes, gets nervous and are at differing levels of ability. Hopefully, we will spur each other on to improve. Any genre is fine.
Prior to the group members are emailed and asked to let me (Hilary, the Group Leader) know if they are performing or there as an audience member. The group are all asked to mute themselves when someone is performing and have the original sound turned on.
Whilst no special equipment is needed (you can participate on a smartphone), a good microphone is an asset.
We meet via Zoom and use the Beacon systems for emailing, joining the group and the organisation of the group.
