World History

The World History group is interested in the history of different places and times worldwide – British, European, Asian, African – the list is endless.

Initially, the group has decided to focus on Russian history and will concentrate on this for as long as is needed to cover the topic satisfactorily. Members are invited to offer short (e.g. 20-minute) presentations on appropriate topics, with maybe two or three contributors per meeting, with lots of time for discussion. We hope that all members contribute over the course of the topic. A short postscript then follows, for example, “Anniversaries” -  quick-fire events, births and deaths on that particular day in history, or stories relevant to the period (easier as things come nearer the 21st century, perhaps).

For details of the future schedule, visit IGO Calendar and select World History from the dropdown list.
