Beside The Thames

This talk was inspired by a walk I did along the entire length of the Thames Path, from the estuary to the source. We see not just the river, but some of the places immediately beside it. Normally I do this talk in two halves, the break point being at Henley

The English Lake District

This talk shows many favourite locations including a few long and high walks. However, many of the best views are at lower levels and are more readily accessible. As well as the scenery, some buildings and even the bed of a reservoir are included.

British Bridges Through The Ages

Bridges range in age, style, and complexity from a few stones thrown across a stream to a large modern bridge such as the Humber Suspension Bridge or the Severn Crossing. The talk presents a historical sequence of British Bridges, including samples of many different types, and a few unusual ones.I grew up very close to a bridge so my interest in this topic is inevitable! The talk is intended to be of general interest to a non technical audience.
