'Not-Frozen Bubble' by Rosemary Gibbs of Rugby u3a

'Not-Frozen Bubble' by Rosemary Gibbs of Rugby u3a

When we had the last really cold snap I wanted to try taking photos of bubbles freezing following online guidance and persevering outside for an hour without success as it was too windy. I took the set-up into my cold garden room and thought that this image was an interesting alternative.

'Cold Robin' by Steve Evans of Saltburn u3a

'Cold Robin' by Steve Evans of Saltburn u3a

It was a late but cold and frosty afternoon when I saw the Robin perched on a cup, part of a bird feeder station. The Robin made me feel cold just by looking at the bird and seeing thrice on its beak!!!!

'Own Beauty' by Tessa Phillips of Potters Bar u3a

In winter there are masses of dead leaves on the ground, but these leaves in a puddle have a beauty all of their own

'Sprinkling Snow' by Marion Griffin of Bolton u3a

Tiny leaves of autumn mixed with the early sprinkling of snow inspired me, so pretty!

'Under the Boardwalk' by Peter Hagger of St Neots u3a

This picture shows the boardwalk across the meadow at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve, except before the ice and snow arrived this part of the meadow was flooded joining up two of the lakes on the reserve.

'Norfolk Seal' by Susan Keeling of Kingswinford & District u3a

'Norfolk Seal' by Susan Keeling of Kingswinford & District u3a

Since I have had to Shield for most of the last year I have been unable to enjoy my hobby of photography but it has given me the chance to relive past holidays through my photos. This seal pup, born around Christmas time, was taken at Winterton beach in North Norfolk during our annual visit to this lovely area.

'A Touch of Warmth' by Sheila Fagg of Potters Bar u3a

'A Touch of Warmth' by Sheila Fagg of Potters Bar u3a

During one of my daily walks, it had been snowing and the Red House in the lane stood out amongst the snowy white fields and added a touch of warmth to the scene.

'Winter Morning Moon' by Marian Cullen of Wrekin u3a

'Winter Morning Moon' by Marian Cullen of Wrekin u3a

I took this photo on 31st December 2020 at 6.45am. The moonlight streaming through my bedroom window had woken me. At first, I was puzzled by the brightness and then I realised it was moonlight. I jumped out of bed and grabbed my iPhone and took this picture (including several others). It was a magical scene and I watched for several minutes until thick cloud hid the moon from sight.

'Snowman with Scarf' by Dianne Murray of East Lothian u3a

'Snowman with Scarf' by Dianne Murray of East Lothian u3a

A seasonal snowman, built by my (grown-up) daughter during our snowy winter.

'Longridge Fell' by Julie Cooper of Clitheroe u3a

'Longridge Fell' by Julie Cooper of Clitheroe u3a

This photo was taken walking towards the top of Longridge Fell, in The Ribble Valley. The stone wall is typical of the area and I love the way the clean white snow enhances the wall and the trees.
