'Reflections' by Sandy Brooks of Mawdesley Villages u3a
"Reflections" The old railings are beautifully reflected in the water and I thought it looked peaceful.

'Abstract' by Denise Bailey of Shepton Mallet u3a
During first lockdown our meetings moved on line via zoom and we were challenged to take images during the current week on such subjects as 'in my kitchen', 'in my garden' and 'on my exercise walk'. This one was 'abstract'. In retrospect I probably should have measured and straightened the gaps between the black and the white sheets of A4 paper, it was somewhat of a 'Blue Peter' job but I think it fits this month's theme.

'Beach Huts' by Brian Snelson of Hockley & Hawkwell u3a
Beach huts at Lowestoft put together in a grid.

'Pinstripes?' by Ian Weatherley of Witham & District u3a
My entry for 'Spots and/or Stripes' is in the form of a colourful abstract image made up of randomly placed drawing pins (providing the spots) on a striped mesh background.

'Light Trails' by Peter Byrne of Chorley u3a
Spots of lights on the motorway. I used a slow shutter speed to get the light trails.

'Nature's Geometry' by Heather Quiney of Dunmow u3a
Taken in the Palm House at Kew Gardens. I just loved the geometry of nature.

'Bubbles' by Carol Greatrex of Broomfield & District u3a
My u3a photography group was recently set the task of photographing things around the house. I noticed bubbles had formed in a bottle of handwash above the level of the soap. This is a crop of a photo I took in colour and converted to black and white. I don't know what causes the bubbles to form? It struck me this is also a suitable subject for the spots and / or stripes theme.

'Shadow Spots & Stripes' by Edwin Wallace of Sidcup u3a
Used this old cheese grater which has lost it's handle to shine a light through, I liked the shadow cast and though spots and stripes

'Stripes & Spot-lights' by Jenny Harkison of Bury u3a
Stripes and spots-the main staircase in the Old Vic Theatre on recent trip to London. I see the bannister spindles as stripes and there are of course spot lights!!

'The Odd One Out' by Jim Melville of Balsall Common u3a
Whilst on Beer Beach in Devon last September these rows of empty deckchairs caught my eye - but why was there only one blue deckchair?

'Celebrations' by Sue Andrews of Braintree u3a
VE Day Celebrations around our village during lockdown.

'What shall I wear today?' by Dianne Murray of East Lothian u3a
I hadn't quite realised just how many stripey jumpers and dresses I had - I do like wearing stripes and spots though!

'Disguise' by Christine Garrity of Mawdesley Villages u3a
Nobody will recognise me in this outfit.

'Sunbeams at Virginia Water' by Steve Skinner of Horndean & District u3a
I thought this was an interesting contrast between the man-made foreground and natural background.

'Sunflower Guest' by Bob Robertson of Sutton Coldfield u3a
An English 7 spot ladybird resting on a sunflower. Ladybirds are very welcome in the garden as they love to eat insects that nibble on garden plants.
