Bicester U3A

BBC iPlayer 

BBC iPlayer has loaded lots of new content including classic box sets, such as all 10 series of popular spy drama Spooks, plus Wallander, French & Saunders, Waking the Dead and The Missing.

Concerts

Andrea Bocelli's Easter Concert was streamed from the empty cathedral in Milan - you can view this on YouTube just go into YouTube and search on Andrea Bocelli.

Violinist Daniel Hope is performing chamber music concerts from his living room in Berlin, with specially invited guests. Every day at 1800 (CTE) Click on Violin Concerts.

Dance

Sadler Wells theatre are using Facebook to stream a number of productions.

Whymondham U3A

Zoom is proving useful for Wymondham U3A who are using it with their family history group members, making the most of the screen sharing facility. It means that one person can advise on how to fill in data - they cannot control the other persons’ computer but they can see where the mouse is and say “up a bit – down a bit – click on that and enter this!

Hitchin U3A

A member at U3A Hitchin has been offering a weekly dance exercise class for members using the free Zoom app. This is a fantastic way to keep fit and catch up with your friends online as well.

Cookridge and Horsforth U3A

Cookridge and Horsforth U3A has been using their website to good effect with two new pages on our website - one U3A AT HOME and the other THINGS TO DO. Members send in ideas, and links and the group leader refreshes the content. They also have a telephone scheme to keep in touch with those who live alone and a closed Facebook group.

Norfolk U3A
Many local interest groups have set up dedicated website pages since lockdown to help members stay in touch. Have a look at this Norfolk U3A group website for ideas and inspiration.

Chelsea Flower Show
Chelsea Flower Show will be taking place virtually this year between 18-23 May. Full details will be available soon but you can read the latest update here. Many people feel they need gardening in their life now more than ever before for their mental and physical wellbeing. Whether it’s for admiring the plants or learning how to grow your own food.
