Supporting our Volunteers

This week is National Volunteer Week 1– 7 June and while no one feels this is the time for celebrations, U3A wants to acknowledge the important role our volunteers have played during the current crisis and throughout the year. Members who step up and volunteer – whatever the role - help keep U3A the amazing and vibrant movement it is.

Advice and Volunteer Manager, Jane Bailey said, “Throughout the movement, members are contributing in a wide range of roles - everything from committee members and tutors to group convenors and venue organisers – giving up their time to share skills and knowledge and especially at this time, to stay connected with each other.

“We value and appreciate everyone of our volunteers and thank you so much for your time, energy and commitment to U3A.

“On Youtube you can see our dedicated film we made in 2019 to showcase our volunteers. In this time they have continued, despite restrictions on face to face contact, to find remote ways to keep learning and connected with each other.

“We will be posting other news and information about volunteering week here and are supporting and encouraging everyone to acknowledge their volunteers throughout the week.

“We will also be creating a new volunteer tab on the website for volunteering news and information so keep checking our website”.
