Chief Executive of the Third Age Trust which supports the more than 1,000 U3As around the country, Sam Mauger has been invited onto a new advisory board launched this month by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

The board of Equality and Diversity Champions will play a vital role in shaping the mayor’s approach to creating a more inclusive city.

Made up from a wide range of experience across age, gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, faith, poverty and socio-economic status, the group will help shape and inform the mayor’s approach to driving forward fairness, diversity and equality in London.

Sam said, “Thank you to the Mayor for inviting me onto this new advisory board. I am delighted to support our communities to better access the opportunities that a vibrant city such as London has to offer.

“It is so important that we continue to tackle disadvantage and isolation to ensure anyone, regardless of age or background can contribute to a thriving community.
