Paint or Draw

A time to think and take in the surroundings.

I love peonies and find them quite difficult to paint but was fairly happy with this one which was given to me by a friend in the U3A.

Summer colour and light on Ludshott Common near my home. Such fun to do freely in mixed media…acrylic, netting, string, sisal, beads, glue.

This view is one i painted in water colour and black pen on the Isles of Scilly ,if you have never visited the islands this is a must for plant lovers and artists. The beaches are amazing especially in the Summer 

Summer Garden with Hollyhocks. I took inspiration from various Gustav Klimt paintings. Painted in acrylic. I love his use of gold in a lot of his pictures - his father was a gold engraver.

From a photograph taken last summer The day was. Extremely hot snd the sharp sunshine captured the light and dark of a Jack on a green chair.
