'Rose' by by Lorna Thompson, Ilkley & District u3a
This lovely rose stopped me in my tracks as I walked along a lane. It had grown out the back of a garden trellis. A watercolour pencil sketch.

'Tree of growth and dreams' by Kevin Chamberlain, Interest Groups Online
I wanted a tree of growth and dreams with no clear season. The painting is in watercolours.

'Wild poppies' by Kathleen Simpson, Dumfries u3a
These poppies grow abundantly in our garden. I have painted this still life, using soft pastels, on top of a landscape painted in acrylic. By turning it to portrait I was able to take advantage of the light of the sky on the right hand side.

'Aeonium' by Wendy Morgan, Bristol u3a
I grew this Aeonium from a small cutting and love it. Also I put the gilded sun in as I love that & it was a very hot sunny day. The splashing or spray I think adds atmosphere.

'Irises' by Chris Platkiw, Long Eaton & District u3a
My wife grows these irises in our garden each year and are at their best in late spring. I find them simply beautiful and a sure sign summer is coming.

'Grown from seeds' by Wendy Watson, Sherburn & Villages u3a
I grew these teasels in my garden from seeds just so that I could have the seed heads to paint. I wanted to create a snowy scene and used watercolour and white ink.

'Elephant' by Mary Fellows, Ilkley & District u3a
The elephant is teasing the tiny caterpillar while its butterfly mother is thinking that the elephant ears are too large for flying.

'Wild flowers' by Salim Quraishy, Harrow u3a
Natural growth of wild flowers in country side in Water colour.

'School' by Janet Amor, Bradford on Avon u3a
I was inspired to paint this picture as we all need to learn to achieve growth. I have been aware of a lot parents being apprehensive about their children starting school.

A pen and coloured pencil sketch of some flowering Sempervivum plants.
