The 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Third Age Trust will be held on 15 October 2025 as a hybrid meeting allowing delegates to attend in person or online.

The in-person event will start at 11am and will take place at Sketchley Grange Hotel, Hinckley, Leicestershire LE10 3HU.

Election of Vice-chair to the Board of Directors

  • Candidate Packs and Nomination forms will be sent to all u3as in the week commencing 2 June 2025.
  • Nominations will be required by 30 June 2025.
  • A briefing session will be arranged for anyone who would like more information and/or who may be interested in standing for the role. This will take place on Monday 16 June at 2pm.
  • All candidates must be nominated and seconded by u3as, one of which must be by their own u3a.
  • All applications will be assessed by the Nominations Committee against agreed criteria as identified by the board and outlined in the Vice-chair candidate pack.
  • All member u3as are eligible to vote. Voting will take place by an online ballot. The link for the online voting form will be sent to u3as during July.
  • Voting will be on the basis of votes allocated to your u3a under clauses 17 a) to 17 f) in the Articles of Association of the Third Age Trust.

Submission of Proposed Resolutions for the 2025 AGM

  • u3as are invited to submit proposed resolutions with supporting statements to the Company Secretary at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 12 noon on Friday 30 May 2025. Resolutions can only be accepted if they are proposed by one u3a and seconded by another.
  • The Board of Directors is required to determine the business of the AGM. This implies that where there are similarities or duplications of proposed resolutions, an amalgamated resolution may be arranged after due consultation with the appropriate u3as.
  • A list of the proposed resolutions received for the AGM will be circulated to all u3as by Thursday 3 July 2025.
  • Any amendments to proposed resolutions will be required by 11 August 2025. As with resolutions, amendments must be proposed and seconded by u3as. The list of amendments to the proposed resolutions will be sent to all u3as with the final AGM agenda no later than the week commencing 15 September 2025. The Board of Directors has the responsibility to examine the amendments, reject any that introduce new matters to or are a direct negation of the original resolution and to arrange amalgamations where appropriate, in consultation with the originating u3as.
  • The proposer and seconder of a proposed resolution, or an amendment, must be prepared to be present at the Annual General Meeting and to speak in support, otherwise the resolution will be withdrawn.
