'Crowns' by Liisa Brown, Stroud u3a

I used my previous flowery painting as a background, and by using a digital drawing tool changed it to black and white, and then added the Platinum Jubilee colours and texts over it. I thought that the shapes of the flowers look a bit like crowns!

'God Bless the Queen' by Anona Hermes, Doncaster u3a

'God Bless the Queen' by Anona Hermes, Doncaster u3a

The inspiration of this watercolour painting of the Queen, albeit not a great likeness, was to celebrate her extraordinary reign and her Platinum Jubilee year. She has travelled more widely than any other monarch. I admire her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service over many years of social change. Her patronage to several hundred charities is astonishing. She reminds me of what is important in life and I am proud of all she has achieved over her long reign.
