Moving Forward

Once lockdown took over and emptied the streets

There was nothing to do and no one to meet.

We had to pick up the challenge or descend into gloom.

Afraid of the internet? No use for zoom?

As fearfully we opened i-pads and computers

A new world embraced us with lectures and tutors.

Our skills soon improved; we became more daring;

Found clip-art for greetings, group e-mails for sharing.

Things have to move forward, or so we are told.

It’s in with the new, away with the old.

Covid has changed us. That’s certainly true.

Let’s move on from the old and embrace the new.
