The u3a Short Story Writing Competition 2024 is on the evocative theme of ‘Escape(s)’.

This is a reminder that the extended deadline for delivery of your entry is Monday 15 July 2024 at 12pm

You still have almost three weeks to write your story, but…. tempus fugit!

Group Leaders, please remind your group members.

The wining results will be announced in September 2024.

Once again, Bloomsbury, our partners for this competition, will be supplying copies of the 2025 Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook (published July 2024), TO THE TOP 12 WINNING ENTRIES.

Alysoun Owen, editor of the 2025 Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook, will be one of the judges who will be selecting the overall winner from the entries.

Three top winners will see their story published on the u3a website, and the overall winner will receive a framed copy of their story.

Will your entry be one of the winners?  We look forward to reading your story.
