Mindfulness and Poetry for Wellbeing
A meeting of mindfulness and inspiring writing to support our health and wellbeing.
These sessions will introduce mindfulness and compassion practices alongside poetry and expressive prose. The group is welcoming and suitable for beginners or the more experienced alike. Support will be offered throughout. Each session we will consider an aspect of mindfulness alongside two or three related poems or short readings. These will be emailed to you along with supporting handouts.
Using mindfulness we can allow the thinking, judging mind to take a backseat: we become quiet and receptive, experiencing the words through our awareness, body and heart.
There will be time for group participants to suggest and share, reflect and discuss in a safe, friendly, inclusive space.
Possible themes: Nature, living with change and loss, acceptance, joy and beauty, connectedness.
