About the adviser

Lynne has been a u3a member for over twenty years, both in Devon and whilst resident in Australia. Always a keen writer, whether fiction, non-fiction or poetry, she was shortlisted for u3a’s 2020 national Short Story Competition and the overall winner the following year with her story ‘The Road to Lille.’ Since then, she has assisted with judging. Following that success she gained contracts with two international women’s magazines for short fiction stories. Having led the Crediton u3a Creative Writing group for four years, last autumn she handed over the reins to concentrate on her trilogy of historical murder mysteries, the first of which will soon be in publication.

"I’m looking forward to engaging with leaders and members of our wonderful network of creative writing groups who I know share my own passion for all-things ‘writing’.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Marcia Humphries for undertaking the role so diligently over the past 13 years. Her support and encouragement were invaluable when I took on leading our local creative writing group and I, and group members, have looked forward to her informative newsletters."
