u3a 40th Anniversary Blog

Between 12 - 25 September,  u3as in the London Region are collectively walking the 230 miles of the circular ‘Capital Ring’ and the ‘LOOP.’

During the week before and the week of ‘u3a Week’, each u3a will walk at least one section of these popular trails around London. Some u3as will join up with their neighbouring u3a to walk together.

Derek Harwood, who helped organise the the walk, says "‘We have about 25 u3as taking part, and still growing. We have some section being walked more than once so that will be more than the 230mile target.

"On the day if we get about 10members per section we might reach about 2,500 miles walked. It’s amazing what u3as can achieve together!’"

If you live in London and want to join in, ask your local u3a which section they are walking or join up with another u3a.
