Opera Appreciation
Do you like opera? Then this group is for you. Do you find opera boring and not relevant in today's hectic world? Then joining this group may lead you to believe the opposite is true.
Our aim is to meet once a month, watch parts of a video recording of an opera, learn about its history, and, together, try to unravel what the composer and the director – these are the opera's two most important influencers – are trying to tell us. In the best tradition of the u3a movement, we will take turns in preparing the material for a meeting. And all of us will have to do our homework: to listen to a selected opera before we take it apart in our meeting.
From time to time, we may select a different format for a session, but even so, the idea member's participation should remain important.
