This month’s bulletin is just for groups which use IGO Zoom accounts.
Urgent – please ensure everyone has left your Zoom meeting
It is essential that you remain in the Zoom meeting until everyone else has left. One meeting last month lasted 892 minutes, and prevented later meetings that day from opening.
When a Zoom account does not have a host, it remains open until the last person leaves. If any of the people attending do not know how to leave, you can ask them to turn off their computer – this will remove them from the meeting. So please stay there until you are sure everyone has gone.
If you are hosting the meeting, you can end the meeting before everyone has left.
Zoom host code
You can obtain host control of your Zoom meeting using the host code.
You will find information about how to do use it at IGO Zoom accounts.
Problems signing into your Zoom meeting
This can happen for various reasons (e.g. see first item). The first thing to do is check the August Zoom calendar which is attached to this email if you have not done so before, to make sure that your meeting is included and that you are using the right link. If you have a problem, you should contact us using
Make sure you tell us the name of your group, the starting time and the Zoom account it is using – this is shown on the Beacon entry. This will make it easier for us to diagnose the problem.
I suggest you create your own personal Zoom account for use in emergencies – you don’t need to pay to do this. If all else fails, you can then set up an emergency Zoom meeting and send the link to your members. The meeting will close down after 40 minutes, but everyone can join again with the same link as many times as you want.
IGO Zoom August calendar
This is attached. It lists all the meetings which are booked in August on the IGO Zoom accounts. If you are at all unsure about your booking, please check that your meeting is included on the list and that the Meeting ID matches what you have. If not, please contact us immediately.
A few points for new group leaders:
Acc 2, Acc 3 and Acc 4 allow two meetings to run at the same time. Acc 1 does not.
In the generic calendar, a half hour is added to the end of each meeting so that people can join meetings 15 minutes in advance, and meetings can overrun by 15 minutes without causing a problem. However, if your meetings are regularly overrunning, please ask for a longer slot.
Zoom meeting renewals
All current IGO Zoom bookings will be renewed until the end of 2027. I have started working on this, and it will be completed by the end of the year. I will not notify individual group leaders when their groups have been updated as this would be quite messy and error-prone...
Generic Zoom calendar
This is attached. At the moment, slots are available at nearly all times. Thus, you can more than likely move your current IGO slot or change from your own account to an IGO account.
Thank you

To all our group leaders for your sterling work
