U3A members are working with The Guardian News and Media (GNM) Archive on a shared learning project.

Having previously received interest from over 100 U3A members, a project to transcribe the journals of The Guardian's first Africa correspondent has now been funded.

The GNM Archive is looking for volunteers who know Pitman Shorthand to help transcribe the archive of Clyde Sanger. The archive has recently been digitised, enabling volunteers to work on the project from home.
