Terms and Conditions to participate in the TCS London Marathon 2027 on behalf of u3a - The Third Age Trust
TCS London Marathon – Sunday 25 April 2027
By accepting a charity place in the TCS London Marathon with The Third Age Trust you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Eligibility
- I confirm that I am over 18 years of age.
- I confirm that I am medically fit and that I participate in the event at my own risk. I understand it is my responsibility to consult a medical professional before beginning any training or participation. The Third Age Trust cannot be held responsible for injury or illness resulting from my participation. I understand that the London Marathon will be physically challenging. I confirm that I will not participate in the London Marathon if for any reason I am not, or if I feel that I am not, in a fit state to take part and I confirm that it is my responsibility to seek expert medical advice if appropriate.
Charity Place
Your charity place allocation has been secured by The Third Age Trust.
You will be required to pay a registration fee of £100 which is non-refundable. The registration fee does not contribute towards your fundraising.
Fundraising Commitment
I agree to raise a minimum of £2,500 for The Third Age Trust (registered charity no. 288007).
I agree to make the best efforts to meet this target and to regularly update The Third Age Trust on my fundraising progress.
I understand that The Third Age Trust requires a minimum of £2,500 and it reserves the right to withdraw my place if I don’t demonstrate a reasonable commitment to meeting the pledge.
I confirm that Gift Aid payments do not count towards this fundraising commitment and instead will be considered funds raised over and above the minimum fundraising target.
Fundraising
- I agree that any fundraising I undertake in connection with my participation in the event will be for The Third Age Trust only and I will forward all monies donated to the Trust no later than four weeks after the event.
- I will not use the Third Age Trust or any associated logo without first obtaining permission from the Third Age Trust and will allow the Third Age Trust to approve any materials produced whether printed or online.
- I will tell my sponsors that I am raising money “in aid of” The Third Age Trust.
- I will not incur upon the Third Age Trust any cost, claim, loss or liability.
- I will obtain approval from the Third Age Trust before approaching press or celebrities to promote my event.
Withdrawal & Cancellation
If I am unable to participate, I will notify The Third Age Trust as soon as possible.
Any funds raised up until the point of withdrawal/cancellation will be treated as donations. Donations are not generally refundable, even if I fail to take part in or withdraw from the event.
Use of Funds
All sponsorship funds raised must be forwarded to The Third Age Trust and cannot be used to reimburse personal expenses.
Representation
As a participant representing The Third Age Trust, I agree to uphold the values of the u3a movement and behave in a respectful and inclusive manner.
Branding
You may use our name and logo for your fundraising efforts, but only in accordance with our branding guidelines (details will be sent separately).
Media Consent
I consent to The Third Age Trust using my name, image and any media captured during the event to promote u3a nationally, which may include, among other things, advertising, media communications, marketing material, presentations, the u3a matters magazine, social media/website content.
Liability
I agree that The Third Age Trust is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage suffered in connection with the TCS London Marathon.
I give permission for my personal information to be passed on to the TCS London Marathon Event organiser by the Third Age Trust for the purposes of the organisation, promotion and administration of the event.
By registering for a TCS London Marathon charity place with The Third Age Trust, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.
