I am an author, journalist and have had a 30 year career in auctioneering. I have given talks around the country for more than 50 years. I am an expert on Elgar and have published three books about him. I give regular talks at his Birthplace Museum near Worcester and have given a number of talks already to u3a groups in the Midlands.

Elgar is as much an Enigma as his famous Variations - this talk seeks to introduce him in a way that most people don't recognise. Many people think of him as a sort of Nationalistic composer of 'Land of Hope and Glory' - but be prepared to be surprised.
