Despite a severe loss of sight and diagnosed dyslexia, Sheelagh has been writing since she could hold a pen. She worked as a community worker before becoming an Anglican Vicar in 2005, serving in the North East. She retired in December 2024 and lives in the North East.

They say you should write what you know. But many writers do the opposite. Through the author's own experience we explore what it takes research, write and publish a story about people in another country (Pennsylvania, USA) and from another community (The Amish) to her own.
