Baz Aveyard

Lincoln Bailgate u3a, East Midlands
I am a retired university lecturer, I have spent the last few years, studying and researching medieval history. I have a particular interest in Edward II, Edward III and Richard II. My approach is to create balanced, credible, human stories of the people who lived through medieval history drawing on both academic discipline and a lifetime of listening to voices across time.

Katherine Swynford: Myth and Reality

I am a direct descendant of Katherine and John of Gaunt and this sparked my interest in their famous relationship. Who was Katherine and what do we know of her true story. My talk attempts to separate what may be romantic fiction and what are the true facts of her fascinating story.
