A colourful start to the decade.

This was a moment in time with my daughter who was born in the early 1980'swhen we made paper chain dollies. This was an moment in time with my granddaughter when we made paper chain dollies. Graphite and calico. 

This image of the paratroopers marching to Port Stanley, for me, signalled the beginning of the end of the Falklands war. 

During the 1980s I went to a lot of music festivals including the Glastonbury Festival three times. This painting of a music festival reminds me of that time.

I was 11, in Italy, when the Bakelite phone rang: ‘There’s been a terror attack at Bologna Central Station!’ It was around 11 a.m. Bologna — THE RED — was struck and drenched in blood, together with the entire nation and to this day, history is still unfolding.

This pen and watercolour image might represent a slightly unusual interpretation of the '1980s' theme, but it provides me with a reminder of when I was lucky enough to see the Space Shuttle 'Enterprise', piggy-backed on its adapted Boeing 747, when it visited Stansted Airport during its European promotional tour of June 1983.

Was a craze in the early 80's with music blaring out everywhere in the parks and houses. a quick sketch in felt-pen.

In the late eighties the world wide web was invented which resulted in my abstract watercolour painting. 

This is a geometric design of a carrot patch worked with marker and felt tip pen. The link to the 1980's is the grey of the soil, a big colour in interior design back then and the florescent colours of the carrots which was big with clothing in the 1980's. A very loose link to the 1980's I admit.

This abstract painting is just a nod to Richard Mirando, who was a New York street artist in the1980s.He began exhibiting his art with Andy Warhol and others. I used water-mixable oils.
