Preseli U3A in Wales has found ways of keeping their Painting for pleasure group active and connected.

The group, which has 18 members, usually meets on a fortnightly basis to socialise and draw/paint for ‘pleasure’ with monthly themes which members are invited to follow.  While face to face meetings are supended the group has continnued to interact through a Whatsapp group and a weekly Newsletter for those not on Whatsapp

Upcoming themes include a group collage’, ‘tonal drawing as a basis for tonal painting’, ‘figurative – humans/animals’, and ‘printing without presses.’

Kevin Jones, the group convenor, said, ‘All members of the group have been invited to contribute to these ‘forums’ by sending photos of finished drawings and paintings, as well as suggestions, supportive comments and recommendations, such as YouTube videos on particular art techniques. This is working very well and it is nice to keep in touch.’
