The Scotland U3A Withdrawing Art Competition has announced its winners.

After amazing entries from U3A members across Scotland, Lindsay Hewitt has won the 'Withdrawing Art Competition' with her 'Triptych' depicting a forest scene.

A panel of judges made up of U3A members were joined by Sandy Moffat RSA who made the final decision. He said, 'I very much enjoyed viewing the work submitted. It seems to me that the participants gained valuable insight into looking and seeing, as well as gathering information and recording their findings through the medium of drawing and painting.

It was a brilliant idea of U3A to organise such a stimulating competition during the early months of lockdown."

U3A members in Scotland were asked to submit paintings the size of a postcard. Jane Schonveld came in second place with her painting, 'Hens', whilst John Mole came third with 'Poppy Field.'
