Apple Devices – Learn and Laugh
Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iWatch, Mac) are powerful computing devices with an easy-to-use Interface, but learning to use their power takes time and instruction. Workshops are available, but these can be intimidating for new and even experienced users. Learning new skills takes time and space to practice, but fear of "breaking the device" can hold us back.
What is needed is a regular, supportive network, and that is just what Zoom can provide. For the past four years, a local u3a group has been having a LAUGH (Learn Apple User Group - How?) with Apple devices, finding new skills (it sometimes takes several times of hearing the same thing!), by using a Zoom connection and a separate Apple device (not on the same Zoom connection as that gives feedback!). This enables us to exploit the built-in Help and Tips features to get to grips with the power of these devices. Because of the consistency of the user interface across devices, a skill learned for one device transfers easily to other devices.
Now an Online group can similarly explore the interface and applications like Mail, WhatsApp, Music, Health, Maps and anything else of interest to group members.
