40th Anniversary Quilt Competition - And the Winners Are
To kick off the celebration for the u3a 40th anniversary in 2022, we launched a u3a-wide Anniversary Quilt competition on the theme of Positive Ageing through our strapline Learn Laugh Live.
This quilt is envisaged as a Moment in History for future generations of u3as, showing engagement by many members, raising local and national profiles and demonstrating the skills and talents of u3a members to the public. It will encourage recruitment and overall awareness and is intended to form part of the u3a Archive in a permanent repository.
The Winners of Our Quilt Competition Are...
Thank you so much to everyone who entered the quilt competition for our 40th anniversary. Our four judges, made up of four u3a members and Stuart Hillard from the Great British Sewing Bee, had a very difficult task picking forty squares. The names and the amazing high quality winning squares can be can be viewed HERE (external site). The winning squares will also appear in the February issue of TAM.
