Professor Francois Vellas - the son of Pierre, the founder of the U3A movement – has met with the new Chairman of the International Committee, Auriol Ainley.
These two international U3A figures discussed the charity’s future global direction and how best to support U3As to continue developing their World-Wide connections.
Francois is President of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) and Professor of International Tourism Economics at the University of Toulouse.
Auriol, who is the West Midlands Trustee, took over her international role at the end of last year.
Auriol said, “I was really delighted to meet with Francois. We had a wonderful discussion around the many ways the U3A movement can continue to support members to share their activities and learning with each other across the world”.
