Professional Cycling Sports Fans
Do you follow professional cycling, or do you want to know more about the sport?
You might already watch major road races, such as the Tour de France, or one-day classics like Paris-Roubaix, or maybe you enjoy track cycling or cyclocross. Following the professional cycling calendar, we will preview races and discuss results. We'll talk about riders, teams and tactics. Group members might wish to lead on specific topics and guest speakers will occasionally attend as well.
You will be very welcome if you are new to this fascinating sport. Our focus will be on sharing and learning together, as knowing more makes cycling even more enjoyable to watch. For instance, we can explain how road races work, what the different colour jerseys mean and how to understand multi-stage races. Also, we can help demystify track race events. What we don't know, we'll share and learn as a group.
Our goal is to enjoy pro-cycling as a sport, so we won't focus on our own exploits as cyclists. You don't even need to own or be able to ride a bike to be part of our group.
We meet fortnightly on a Monday morning.
When
TBD, probably fortnightly
