For National Trustees’ Week, the u3a movement is celebrating the work done by u3a Trustees on a local and national level across the u3a movement. There are more than 10,000 u3a trustees, most are members of local u3a committees.

Liz Thackray, Chair of the Third Age Trust, the body which oversees more than 1,000 u3as across the UK, says that trustees are “the bread and butter of this organization…who keep the u3a going day to day.”

Watch Liz's full message to u3a trustees on the u3a YouTube channel.

The u3a movement is made up of volunteers who support each other to share their interests, learn new things and have fun. Each local u3a is run by a committee made up of members.

On our u3a Sources blog this week, Trustees from across the movement will be sharing insight into their experiences.

To find out more about becoming a u3a Trustee, talk to your local u3a committee.
